The identification of a positive case of COVID-19 following a given cross-border journey fulfils the criteria set out in Article 9(1) of Decision 1082/2013/EU, as it may still cause significant mortality in humans, as it may grow rapidly in scale, as it affects more than one Member State, and as it may require a coordinated response at Union level.
